Here in the Livelihood Community, we understand that the secret to a happy and productive working life is to find a niche in the marketplace which is a perfect fit for your personal passion and unique set of skills.
So, if you’re lucky enough to live anywhere near Miami Florida on Saturday April 6, 2013: Come check out Philanthrofest at the Miami Dade College Downtown campus.
Imagine- all the organizations who share your interests and passions, in one festival space.
Imagine- a street festival that’s all about things to do and ways to be involved in your community.
If you’re new to the community, Philanthrofest rolls out the red carpet to welcome you to meet the groups and organizations that offer Miami’s most engaging cultural, social, civic, volunteer and advocacy opportunities.
If you’ve lived in Miami for a while, you’ll be amazed at the energy and vitality that’s been blossoming over the past few years. Find others who care as much as you do about animals, the arts, social justice, and environmental activism.
Philanthrofest is designed to bring together people who love to be engaged and make a difference. It’s designed to build relationships, partnerships and opportunities for collaboration.
It’s also a day filled with programs. For kids, there‘s a Youth Activity Zone hosted by the Miami Science Museum. For cultural creatives, there’s music, performance art, live theater, drumming, dance and comedy. Families can also enjoy an array of food booths and boutiques (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Graduation gift giving opportunities are just around the corner).
Philanthrofest Executive Director and Co-founder Estrellita Sibilia is the catalyst for this event. An award winning young zoning attorney with a knack for social entrepreneurship, she saw an opportunity to apply her skills in building alliances, with a need, in the social sector marketplace, for a consortium of organizations who share a passion for building a stronger Miami.
